CARD CLASS Monday October 12
Come join the fun at our card class at the cafe on Monday, October 12 at 6:30 pm. We will be doing at least three Christmas Cards (maybe four) and using a variety of techniques that we have not done before...it will be fun. Make sure you bring your favorite adhesives and yourself and come join the fun. Cost for the seven cards is $15.

Scrapbooking Crops in Bradenton, FL
Do you love to scrapbook? Join us at our crop every Friday night from 5p-midnight at Inspiration Cafe in Bradenton, Florida. Email us for a reservation or if it is last minute just stop on by, I am sure we can make room for you. The cost is $5 for the night and half of an 8 foot table. We have a refrigerator, microwave and soda /water for 50 cents.
Monthly all day crops are the third Saturday every month from 10a-midnight. The cost is $10 and since we have a tendency to fill up during the winter months, please email your reservation to make sure there is space.
Our all day Saturday crop in October is going to be so much fun. If you have a Cricut and want to learn more about it come join us for a "Swarm". Bring your Cricut, an extension cord and any cartridges you may want to explore and share. There will be a card project available. If you don't have a Cricut, come join us anyway from 10a-midnight for only $10 and crop the day away!

ScrapPINK 2009
I think everyone had a great time today at the ScrapPink 2009 crop at Inspiration Cafe in Bradenton! We had a layout contest, the layout that raised the most money won, a raffle with lots of great prizes and we auctioned the two premade Pirate scrapbook layouts. We made a total of $568.40 to send to Scrapbooks, Etc for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure ScrapPink 2009! What an awesome group of scrappers!
I would also like to take the time to thank Deborah Humes for donating recipe cards for sale, Gail Gibbons for donating a very nice stamping Up stamp set for raffle, and to Sharon Blackrick for donating two very nice page kits and also some goodies to be handed out to everybody. Vickie Kipp made two bear layouts and between the two of them they raised $165. I guess you can tell we were all fighting over them.

MONTHLY CARD CLASS
Our monthly card class will be held Monday, September 14th (second Monday of the month) from 6:30 - 8:30 pm at the Cafe.
We will have an exciting time of creating some "spooky" cards, along with a "Fall" time card and more. We will create seven different cards using some new techniques like Flower Soft and we will also be using the Score Pal for a beautiful Shutter Card. Can't wait can you? I can't either and I hope to see you all there.
You may bring your small craft tote if you like, but you must bring adhesives including glue dots, pop dots and permanent adhesive of choice. We will be using chalks, watercolor pencils, score pal, distressing inks in black and brown, paper piercer, distresser, embossing, cuttlebug. We will have one (at least) of each of the tools you will be using - if you bring your own, you could move through the cards at a quicker pace.
You will have a photo and instruction written for each card. We have also found out that the best way to create our cards is to do each card at a station. This way you can move at your own pace or get extra help you may need.

SCRAP Pink Crop Sept 19th
Mark your calendar for a fun-filled, fund-raising crop! Proceeds from this Scrap Pink event will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Inspiration Cafe is having a SCRAP Pink Crop Saturday September 19, 2009 from 10am-midnight. The cost is $10 and all of the money will be donated to SCRAP Pink. Last year we raised $500 and we hope to double that this year! We will have raffles and auctions with 100% of the money going to the fund-raiser.

CRICUT SWARM IN BRADENTON
Inspiration Cafe in Bradenton, Florida is having our first "CRICUT SWARM" next Saturday, August 15, during our all day crop. Bring your Cricut and play along with us. We are planning on making a recipe box for those that are interested. The tin recipe box can be purchased at Michaels with a 40% coupon for about $4. If you are unsure which tin to purchase, stop by the Cafe Saturday morning then go purchase the tin. We will be starting the "class" at around noon on Saturday.
The cafe will be open at 10:00 a.m. as usual for those that want to come early to crop. You do not have to participate in the Cricut Swarm to come. Please come join us for fun and fellowship and bring your cropping.
If you are coming to swarm, bring your Cricut, your mats, an extension cord and any cartidges that you may want to use. If you have the Doodlecharms cartridge please bring that , as this is the one we will be using for the recipe box.
The cost of the class is the regular $10.00 for the all day crop.

You will need to bring your class kit of scissors, journaling pen, distress ink of choice, adhesives of choice, pop dots, bone folder, paper piercer. If there is something you don't have we do share. Inspiration Cafe will be closed Friday, July 31, 2009 as most of us will be going to Orland for the CHA CRAFT SUPERSHOW.

The latest information that I received is there will be 80++ exhibitors. There will be scrapbooking, stamping, ink, beads, jewelry making, yarn, needlecrafts and more. If it is crafty, it looks like there will be an exhibitor that will have it! Sounds like a very exciting 2 days!!

Weekend Crop in Bradenton, FL

Weekend crop in Bradenton, FL
Are you looking for a group of fun scrapbookers to crop with in the Bradenton, Palmetto, Parrish, FL Manatee county area? Come on out and give us a try. We have been meeting and scrapbooking for a year now, ever since Scrap Happy closed. Our building has great lighting, 2 croppers at 8 foot tables, and tons of ideas flying around the room. We have access to a refrig and microwave so we can bring our own food.
There is a Cricut available for everyone to use, we only ask that you bring your own 12"x12" mat that is used in the machine for cutting on. We have quite a few Cricut cartridges to use also.

Please bring your basic class kit: paper trimmer, scissors, wet and dry permanent adhesives, distress inks of choice, black journaling pen and optional items that are helpful are pop dots, glue dots, bone folder, paper piercer.
Kits my also be ordered in advance and will include papers, embellishments used and instructions (stamps, inks and tools will not be included).

In Loving Memory of Carolyn Rhoades
Wanda Rhoades' mother, Carolyn Rhoades, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, April 10, 2009 after a long, hard battle with Alzheimer's. Visitation will be Monday evening, April 13, from 6pm-8pm at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, 720 Manatee Avenue W, Bradenton, FL. Her funeral is Tuesday morning, 11:00 am, at Palm View Baptist Church in Palmetto. She will be buried in the family plot at Fortner Cemetary.

Join Scrapbooking Goodies for a HUGE 3 day crop: Friday March 13th 10 am to midnight, Saturday March 14th 10 am to Midnight, and Sunday March 15th 10 am to 6 pm!
In this crop not only will you have 36 hours of cropping time, there will be private classes available to you the scrapbookers, at NO ADDITIONAL COST! Each day there are different things happening!
On Friday there will be a 2 page Layout class with one of our teachers.
On Saturday you will be partaking in 3 different classes! The classes will include: a 2 page layout, we will also have 2 special guest teachers! One will teach you some fun ink techniques while you create a cute paper bag book and the other guest teacher will be teaching you how to make a mini scrapbook!
On Sunday there will be 2 additional classes; to include a 2 page layout class with one of our teachers and another class with one of our guest monkey teachers using the melting pot! Also included in this weekend long crop is: dinner Friday night, Lunch and Dinner on Saturday and Lunch on Sunday. Snacks will also be provided during the day on each day.

We all love Julie's and it will be a nice little excursion. The cafe will be open at 10:00 for those who do not wish to go to Tampa.

Tampa Bay Scrapbook Treasure Hunt
This is an email I just received from The Scrapbook Shoppe in Tampa, FL.
Last night we had our initial Tampa Bay Scrapbook Treasure Hunt meeting. Lexi and I sat in the back and caused trouble! It was lots of fun and informative. You guys are going to LOVE the additions to the Hunt this year. The passport package alone left me giddy!
So here's the skinny-
First and foremost- can I call the Shoppe and reserve mine today? YES!!
Dates- Friday, March 6- Sunday, March 15
Times- Once again we will all be open the same hours. No surprises for you! We will all be open Monday-Thursday 10am-6pm, Fridays will be 10am-8pm, Saturdays 10pm-6pm and Sundays 12pm-5pm. This should give you LOTS of time to visit all of the stores.
Participating Stores- As it is shaping up, this could change a bit. The participating stores will be K2 Scrapbook Studio, Made for Memories, Whim So Doodle, Scrapbooking in Paradise, The Happy Scrapper, Ruban Rouge, Scrapbook Fanatic, Scrap and Sew, Scraporium, Scraptopia, Violettes and The Scrapbook Shoppe.
Passports packages- Passport packages this year will be $10.00 and SO WORTH IT! I am not giving away any secrets but we have gone above and beyond to put some cool stuff in there this year. The passport will require a stamp with a $5.00 purchase. When you completely fill up your passport, you will be eligible for the prizes! The grand prize will be a $100.00 gift certificate to each store. AMAZING! Other prizes include more gift certificates, donations from our favorite manufacturers and more.
Cover Contest- We will even be having a contest to cover your 6x6 Treasure Hunt album.
Make and Takes- We will all be providing a "make and take" or "take and make" for your 6x6 album. The theme this year is "The Search for Hidden Treasure". I am sure we will be doing some fun activities around this theme. A peel off Johnny Depp poster comes to mind!
Party Beads and Goody bags- Get ready for some fun tags for your Treasure Hunt beads! We are already thinking about your treats. I am pretty sure it will involve ice cream, chocolate or both!
Discount- You will get 10% off your purchases during the Treasure Hunt dates- Score!
Tell your friends! Do you have a newbie? someone who always says "I want to scrapbook, but"? Someone who just needs to get out and have a little fun? This is the event for them. Bring a friend that has not done the Treasure Hunt before. They will be happy they came. Our goal is to have 1000 participants, help us out ladies!
